The result at the Nanzih Football Stadium secured Abdysh-Ata an impressive 8-1 aggregate victory, with the Kyrgyz Republic side set for a showdown against either Australia’s Central Coast Mariners or Odisha FC of India in the Inter-Zone final.
Abdysh-Ata trailed going into the break on Wednesday but turned things around to walk away as comfortable winners.
“We had to endure a lengthy travel time, similar to Taichung’s experience in the first leg, and also adapt to the challenging weather conditions. It was tough for my players, especially during the initial two days,” said head coach Akhmedov.
“However, the team managed to navigate through the challenging conditions and maintained their composure despite struggling in the first half. They persisted in executing their duties, and I am very grateful to my players for their efforts.”
“We knew it would not be an easy game for us as they have players who are dangerous but we came prepared and we came only to win.”
The two-leg Inter-Zone final will be played on April 17 and 24.
