Defending champions Persepolis narrowed the gap at the top of the Iran Pro League with a 2-0 victory over Tractor after leaders Esteghlal were held to a 1-1 draw by Malavan.

In the Indian Super League (ISL), Odisha FC maintained their lead after a goalless draw against Mohun Bagan Super Giant, while Basundhara Kings remained in control at the summit of the Bangladesh Premier League.

IR Iran: Persepolis close gap on Esteghlal

Persepolis regained their winning form in the Iran Pro League as they breezed past Tractor 2-0 at the Azadi Stadium. After a goalless first half, goals from Issa Alekasir in the 57th minute and a Mehdi Torabi strike two minutes later propelled the Tehran club to second place in the standings.League leaders Esteghlal FC were held to a 1-1 draw by fourth-placed Malavan. Malavan took the lead in the 65th minute with a goal from Mohammad Reza Soleimani, but their advantage was short-lived as Jaloliddin Masharipov equalised just two minutes later.

Esteghlal remained three points clear at the top of the table on 36 points ahead of Persepolis, while Sepahan are third on 31.

Elsewhere, sixth-placed Gol Gohar shared the spoils with relegation-threatened Paykan in a 2-2 draw, Aluminium Arak went down to Esteghlal Khuzestan 3-2, while Mes Rafsanjan overwhelmed Nassaji Mazandaran 3-0.

Odisha FC, Mohun Bagan Super Giant share spoils, Mumbai FC on a roll

Odisha FC remained top of the ISL table with 32 points after playing out a 0-0 draw against Mohun Bagan Super Giant, who dropped to third in the standings.

Mumbai FC continued their winning streak, defeating former champions Chennaiyin FC 2-0 with a Bipin Singh brace. This victory propelled them to second place in the league standings. Bipin scored in the 71st and in added time, securing Mumbai’s third successive win. They now trail Odisha by just one point, with a game in hand.

However, it wasn’t a good week for FC Goa who lost to North East United FC (0-2), and Kerala Blasters (2-4) respectively. The results see them slipping down to fifth, while Kerala who – registered their first win in four matches – are a point ahead on 29.
The week also saw Bengaluru FC register their fourth win from 17 matches when they beat Hyderabad FC 2-1, while a free-kick conversion from Jeremy Manzorro in the seventh minute of added time guided Jamshedpur FC to a 2-1 victory against East Bengal FC.

Bangladesh: Sheikh Russel hold 10-man Bashundhara

۱۰-man Bashundhara Kings couldn’t extend their lead at the top of the Bangladesh Premier League table, settling for a 1-1 draw against sixth-placed Sheikh Russel.

Despite the stalemate, Bashundhara maintained their lead five-point advantage over Mohammedan, who came back from two goals down to secure a 2-2 draw against third-placed Abahani Dhaka.

In other matches, Police defeated Brothers Union 4-1, Fortis secured a 2-0 victory over Abahani Chittagong, and Sheikh Jamal emerged 2-1 victors against Rahmatgonj MFS.
