Supachai Chaided believes Thailand’s 2-0 win over Kyrgyz Republic in Group F of the AFC Asian Cup Qatar™ 2023 is just the start of better things to come from the Southeast Asian side.

Tuesday’s victory means Thailand lead the standings on goal difference ahead of three-time AFC Asian Cup winners Saudi Arabia, who secured a last-gasp 2-1 win over Oman.

Having had to step in for legend Teerasil Dangda as the War Elephants’ attacking threat, Supachai’s goals either side of half-time means Thailand are within touching distance of the Round of 16.
“It was a solid team performance. We set a clear goal to secure three points in the first match and to carry that momentum into the upcoming games. We’re not just here for three matches; our aim is to go the distance,” said the Buriram forward Supachai.

“The team atmosphere is fantastic, thanks to effective communication and camaraderie among the players. Everyone understands the coach’s expectations and did their best on the field, diligently following the instructions and the overall coaching plan.”
Supachai attributed Thailand’s dominant display at the Abdullah Bin Khalifa Stadium to their teamwork and expects his side to get better.

“I’m pleased and grateful for the teamwork exhibited by my teammates and our support staff.

“There were some mistakes around the 30th minute that prompted us to adjust our formation. It’s crucial to seize the moment when the opponent makes errors and play in a way that we can control the game.”
“We feel there is a need to address certain transitions in both attacking and defending. The next game will likely be more intense and we need to be prepared.”
