Malaysia and Jordan are set for an exciting clash when they meet in Group E of the AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023™ on Monday.

Both are targeting extended runs, setting the stage for blockbuster affair.

First meeting
This will be the first ever clash between Malaysia and Jordan at the AFC Asian Cup; the only time the two sides have met in competitive men’s internationals was during the 1988 AFC Asian Cup qualifiers, a game that ended in a goalless draw.

Tough nut to crack
Jordan kept a clean sheet in each of their three group stage games in the AFC Asian Cup UAE 2019, only the second time they’ve done so in a single campaign (in 2004).

Win overdue
Malaysia have won just one of their nine AFC Asian Cup (D3 L5) matches, losing each of their last three games in the competition; indeed, this is Malaysia’s first appearance in the tournament since 2007.

Dribble master
Jordan’s Mousa Tamari attempted 7.7 dribbles per game in the AFC Asian Cup uAE 2019, the highest such aggregate for any player to have featured in more than one game in that edition of the tournament.
