South American outfit meet African side in the match for third place with the tournament's bronze medal at stake.

The FIFA U-17 World Cup Indonesia 2023™ has reached its penultimate matchday, with Argentina and Mali set to do battle in the Play-Off for Third Place.

Both sides come into the game following tight semi-final defeats. The South Americans twice came from behind against Germany – including an equaliser seven minutes into added time – only to lose 4-2 on spot-kicks. Mali, meanwhile, saw their last-four clash with France turn on a 55th-minute dismissal for Souleymane Sanogo, as they fell to a crushing 2-1 loss.

The fixture could also have a bearing on the final standings in the adidas Golden Boot race, with Argentina’s Agustin Ruberto currently leading the way on eight goals scored. Team-mate Claudio Echeverri is his nearest competitor with five, while Mali captain Ibrahim Diarra will look to improve on his tally of four.
