Indonesia 3-3 Laos
The fans at Manahan Stadium were treated to an exciting first half that saw Laos taking the lead twice before being pegged back by Indonesia.
Prodigious 17-year-old forward Phousomboun Panyavong put his team ahead in the ninth minute but the home side drew level two minutes later when Kadek Arel smashed home following a melee in the box.
A quick counter attack in the 11th minute saw Bounphachan Bounkong’s swift turn leaving Kadek rooted, with the player teeing up Phatana Phommathep for the finish.
Indonesia, however, again found a quick equaliser when Muhammad Ferarri nodded in Pratama Arhan’s long throw in the 18th minute.
Despite going down to 10 men after Marselino Ferdinan picked up a second yellow card, Indonesia took the lead three minutes later when Ferarri headed home from a corner kick.
Laos were not to be denied a point when 18-year-old Peeter Phanthavong turned in a cutback in the 76th minute.
Indonesia take on Vietnam in Hanoi on Sunday while Laos return to Vientiane to face the Philippines.
Philippines 1-1 Myanmar
Myanmar went into the game knowing they had to start getting needed points after their 1-0 defeat to Indonesia on Monday and started in determined fashion.
Maung Maung Lwin put the visitors ahead at Rizal Memorial Stadium with a stunning free-kick, sending the ball over the wall into the top corner after 25 minutes of play.
A resurgent Philippines laid siege to Myanmar’s goal in the second half and were rewarded when Bjorn Kristensen’s penalty in the 72nd minute came good despite the best efforts of Zin Nyi Nyi Aung who dived the right way but was unable to keep the ball out.
Myanmar next play Laos on Wednesday.
