\nIslamic Republic of Iran emerged third for the second time, having also won the bronze medal in the 2017 edition. They missed the 2019 and 2021 editions.<\/p>\n

\nIran lost their semi-final tie to Brazil in heartbreaking fashion, with the eventual champions scoring the winner with just 42 seconds remaining on the clock, having come back from 2-0 down. <\/p>\n

\nIran’s Mohammadali Mokhtari took the Bronze Scorer award with seven goals. Belarus’ Ihar Bryshtsel won the Golden Scorer award with 12 goals while Portugal’s Leo Martins took the Silver award.

\nIn a tournament which saw 38 goals scored from bicyle kicks, Iran led the way with 10 spectacular finishes.<\/p>\n
High representation
\nThree of Asia’s four teams – Iran, Japan and United Arab Emirates – advanced to the quarter-finals. <\/p>\n
Tough outing for Japan
\nSilver medallists in 2021, Japan had it tough this time around with the East Asian side eliminated by Brazil in the quarter-finals, having advanced after finishing second in their group.<\/p>\n
Historic first
\nHosts UAE advanced to the knockout stage for the first time in eight appearances at the global showpiece, producing a fighting performance before going down 2-1 to Iran in the quarter-finals.
\nUnlucky Oman
