The FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup\u2122 is set to return, two years after the 2022 edition was won by Spain.<\/p>\n
La Rojita won their first title in the category after a 3-1 victory over Japan in the final, thanks in no small part to the fantastic Salma Paralluelo, who would go on to become world champion with the senior side at Australia & New Zealand 2023.<\/p>\n
For the 2024 edition, the tournament will grow from 16 to 24 teams following the decision of the FIFA Council on 4 October to expand the number of participants.<\/p>\n

When and where?
\nThe FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup 2024 will take place in Colombia from 31 August to 22 September.<\/p>\n
Colombia has previously hosted two FIFA tournaments: the FIFA U-20 World Cup 2011\u2122, the men’s equivalent of the women’s competition, and the FIFA Futsal World Cup 2016\u2122.<\/p>\n
Participating nations (16\/24 confirmed)
\nQualified nations: Austria, Cameroon, Canada, Colombia (host country), Costa Rica, Fiji, France, Germany, Ghana, Mexico, Morocco, Netherlands, New Zealand, Nigeria, Spain, USA.<\/p>\n
A total of 4 teams each from AFC, CAF, Concacaf and CONMEBOL (plus hosts Colombia) will take part in the tournament, as well as 2 from OFC and 5 from UEFA.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
