In an interview with FIFA.com, the 29-year-old German-born forward from Halle provided an insight into the differences between his two footballing worlds. Having already won more than 20 international caps, Ratifo also gave his thoughts on his team\u2019s chances of qualifying for the FIFA World Cup 26\u2122 and how they might fare at the African Cup of Nations 2023.<\/p>\n
Stanley, you\u2019re currently preparing to take part in your first major international tournament after being named in the Mozambique squad for the AFCON. How do you feel on the eve of the tournament \u2013 proud, nervous, fired up?<\/strong><\/p>\n Stanley Ratifo<\/strong>: Although I\u2019m feeling quite a lot of things, I haven\u2019t noticed any nerves so far. I\u2019m obviously motivated to do well, as I get a chance to test myself against all kinds of superstars on the international stage. I can\u2019t wait to get started.<\/p>\n You\u2019re currently in the middle of a national team training camp. What\u2019s the mood like within the squad and what final few areas of improvement have you been working on?<\/strong><\/p>\n The mood within the team is positive. We\u2019re a relaxed group who stick together \u2013 both on and off the pitch.
