For Botafogo\u2019s Thiago Almada, this month\u2019s tournament will evoke memories of Argentina\u2019s dramatic World Cup conquest, while for the Real Madrid trio of Kylian Mbappe, Eduardo Camavinga and Aurelien Tchouameni, it will be impossible to not recall France\u2019s near-miss.<\/p>\n<p>FIFA break down the players who are returning to action in Qatar for the first time since their World Cup experience.<\/p>\n<p>Pachuca<br \/>\nAngel Mena, Ecuador<br \/>\nThe veteran midfielder was named to the Ecuador roster, but did not see any action in the team\u2019s three group stage matches.<\/p>\n<p>Botafogo<br \/>\nThiago Almada, Argentina<br \/>\nAlmada was a surprise inclusion on Lionel Scaloni\u2019s final roster and ended up playing the final six minutes of Argentina\u2019s 1-0 victory over Poland in their group finale.<\/p>\n<p>Pachuca<br \/>\nAngel Mena, Ecuador<br \/>\nThe veteran midfielder was named to the Ecuador roster, but did not see any action in the team\u2019s three group stage matches.<\/p>\n<p>Botafogo<br \/>\nThiago Almada, Argentina<br \/>\nAlmada was a surprise inclusion on Lionel Scaloni\u2019s final roster and ended up playing the final six minutes of Argentina\u2019s 1-0 victory over Poland in their group finale.<\/p>\n<p>Alex Telles, Brazil<br \/>\nTelles played in two group-stage matches for A Selec\u00e3o in Qatar. He came off the bench for the final four minutes of the 1-0 win against Serbia and then started and played 54 minutes in the 1-0 defeat to Cameroon.<\/p>\n<p>Al Ahly<br \/>\nAchraf Dari, Morocco<br \/>\nAfter failing to appear in Morocco\u2019s first four matches, Dari got his first taste of the World Cup when he entered as a second half substitute in the 1-0 quarter-final win against Portugal. The defender then started the 2-0 semi-final loss to France, and started and scored in the 2-1 third place play-off defeat against Croatia.<\/p>\n<p>Yahya Attiat Allah, Morocco<br \/>\nAttiat Allah played in six of Morocco\u2019s seven matches, entering as a second-half substitute in two group-stage matches, the 0-0 draw with Croatia and the 2-0 win against Belgium. He was also a substitute in the Round of 16, as Morocco eliminated Spain in a penalty shootout. Attiat Allah then started in the 1-0 quarter-final victory over Portugal, before being a half-time substitute in the 2-0 semi-final loss with France. He also started the third-place play-off.<\/p>\n<p>Ali Maaloul, Tunisia<br \/>\nTunisia\u2019s spell at Qatar 2022 was brief, lasting only in the group stage, but it ended on a positive note for Maaloul, who started and played the full 90 minutes in the 1-0 triumph over France in their finale.<\/p>\n<p>Real Madrid<br \/>\nThibaut Courtois, Belgium<br \/>\nCourtois started all three matches for Belgium and registered clean sheets in the 1-0 win against Canada and the scoreless draw with Croatia. His highlight was saving a penalty from Canada&#8217;s Alphonso Davies.<\/p>\n<p>Jude Bellingham, England<br \/>\nBellingham started all five matches for the Three Lions in Qatar, scoring in the 6-2 group-stage win versus IR Iran and contributing an assist in the 3-0 last-16 victory against Senegal.<\/p>\n<p>Eduardo Camavinga, France<br \/>\nCamavinga started in the 1-0 loss to Tunisia in their group finale before appearing for the final 19 minutes of extra time in the final against Argentina.<\/p>\n<p>Vinicius Junior, Brazil<br \/>\nVinicius started four of Brazil\u2019s five matches and scored the opening goal in the 4-1 win against Korea Republic in the Round of 16.<\/p>\n<p>Uruguay\u2019s stay at the World Cup did not last past the group stage, but Valverde played every minute for his country and helped record two clean sheets.<\/p>\n<p>Kylian Mbappe, France<br \/>\nMbappe was breathtaking in every way at Qatar 2022. The Frenchman finished with the adidas Golden Boot after notching eight goals, including a hat trick in the final, making him just the second player to score three goals in a decider after Geoff Hurst for England some 56 years earlier.<br \/>\nLuka Modric, Croatia<br \/>\nReal Madrid\u2019s midfield wizard was at his brilliant best once again in Qatar, leading Croatia to a third-place finish.
